It was great to finally meet many of you in Italy two weeks ago! What a fun conference that was; many thanks to all who came to say hello!
When I returned home I discovered that for 2.5 weeks none of my emails were received by our shipper in England. I do not know why this happened but it did cause a delay in the shipping of the poles. We are back on track now and we should be ready to ship the poles within 1-2 weeks. The company, DSV has contact information for all who are receiving orders and I expect that they will be contacting each of those people soon. I will post another update as soon as I know more about the shipping schedule.
I do apologize that this has taken so long. I am doing everything I can to get these poles to you as quickly as possible. There have been a lot of issues regarding the import and the shipping but the bamboo is in good shape and hopefully it will soon be in your shops!

I have received a notice today from DSV that said they believe that not all of the orders were shipped properly. This means that some of you may not receive the exact order you made with me. This should only be an issue for people with large orders (I do not believe that there are any problems with the orders to Italy or Germany ). I have asked DSV to confirm what was sent to who but I may also need help from some of you to confirm what you receive in your order! Again, I have to say I am sorry for another problem but I think it is a small issue and will not affect most of you.
But for me, I cannot invoice anyone until I know exactly what they have received. I do not know how or when DSV can confirm what they have sent to everyone so I do not know exactly when I can send the final invoice to all of you. However, I do believe that our final costs have been determined. The final cost is the same that I quoted several months ago when we started all this except I have had to add $1 per pole as well as the shipping cost to all of your orders.
Originally I thought we could set this up so that customers all throughout Europe could pay the exact same amount that rod makers in the US have to pay for their bamboo. However, the cost of getting the bamboo into Europe , the import process and especially the shipping charges were much, much higher than I had anticipated. I am sorry that the final price may be a little higher than I originally anticipated but I think the final price should still be acceptable to everyone. The $1 additional I am charging is to help me cover the costs of the import and VAT tax. None of you will have to bother to pay extra for your tax (except for the people in three countries whom I have been in touch with). I am not trying to charge anyone more than I quoted and I am now paying a bit extra from my end as well. Also, the strength of the Euro vs. the USD does not help me keep the price low in USD.
I do hope the final price is acceptable to everyone. Please write me right away with any questions or concerns.

ein hallo an alle rutenbauer,
ich bin micha's bessere hälfte
sylvia und soll euch folgendes schreiben.
der bestellte bambus ist heute früh per spedition bei uns eingetroffen. leider ohne eine voranmeldung. micha ist geschäftlich unterwegs.
wie er das nun mit dem verteilen macht, weis ich noch nicht genau. könnte sein, das er sich schon gleich am wochenende bemüht, einiges wegzuschaffen.
also bitte schon mal geld locker machen, damit dann später alles reibungslos läuft ....lieferung gegen bares
genaue preise weis ich eben nicht. owk schreibt ja, das es preisunterschiede beim durchmesser gestaffelt zur bundanzahl gibt aber der lieferpreis ist immer noch nicht bekannt, oder verstehe ich da was falsch? ....schulenglish ... schulterzuck ...micha kennt owk's eintrag vom 01.07.08 noch nicht ....
ja, doch da steht auch etwas zum lieferpreis, aber das muss man in ruhe übersetzen .... micha wird das dann machen

not receive it in a reasonable amount of time.
Thirdly, I can take payment by credit card. To do this it is probably
best to call me. I can take credit card information in an email but many
people do not feel safe to send this information in an email; either way
is okay with me. You can call either number listed below, I am 8 hours
behind UK time and 9 hours behind the rest of Europe (I think). The only
problem with this method (other than needing to make the phone call) is
that I am charged between 2.5%-4% by the credit card company and I do not
know the rate they charge for individual cards until I receive my bill. I
do not want to charge any of you extra money but I cannot afford to lose
an average of 3% for all my payments. Plus, I do not like the idea of
paying some large company for your and my business. But, this payment is
convenient so I will gladly accept payment by credit card (please add 2%
to your total if you will pay with a credit card.).

hallo zusammen,
so jetzt bin ich mal wieder zuhause und kann hier mal kurz was dazu schreiben. wie meine frau schon schrieb, ist der bambus diese woche bei mir eingetroffen. statt der bestellten 22 bund (und nach andys rechnung 22x 167=3674 $) sind allerdings nur 21 angekommen. das ist aber kein problem für mich, dann gebe ich eins von meinen ab. ich komme in nächster zeit sowieso nicht zum ruten bauen.
zum praktischen teil:
in der nächsten woche kümmere ich mich um den transport nach süddeutschland. ich schlage vor, das ich die bunde nach nürnberg zu karl bringe (wenn er damit einverstanden ist). das kann relativ kostengünstig erfolgen, ich denke unter 10 € je bund.
die überweisung an andy werde ich auch in der nächsten woche in angriff nehmen. sollten dazu noch etwaige gebühren fällig werden, sage ich rechtzeitig bescheid, auch den dann aktuellen dollarkurs. heute z.b. würde ein bund ca 107 € kosten.
piscator aus kiel wollte sich sein bund bei mir abholen.
kevin müsste sich mal bei mir melden, wie wir verfahren wollen.
woher jetzt der wolfgang war, weiß ich im moment nicht. melde dich bitte nochmal bei mir.

jetzt wird es ernst. am samstag bringe ich den bambus für die"südländer" nach bechhofen zu karl. die überweisung an andy ist heute raus. der preis je bund wird sich bei ca € 110-115 einpendeln (je nach $-kurs und gebühren)
